Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and moving & handling.
Use alternative communication methods, such as Makaton, PECS, or AAC, to support students’ learning and engagement.

Maintain a calm, patient, and positive approach when managing challenging situations.
Ensure students’ safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the school day.
Essential Criteria

-Comfortable providing personal care as part of the role.
-A car and a valid driving licence to travel to the school.
-Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with students and staff.
-Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students with additional needs.

-Previous experience in a special school or care setting.
-Training in moving & handling, PEG feeding, or communication strategies (Makaton, PECs, AAC, etc.).
