Job Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (with potential for permanent placement)

About the Role:
Five Education is working with a specialist provision in Bristol that supports students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are seeking a dedicated and qualified teacher to join this committed team and help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive both academically and emotionally.

This is a full-time teaching role, suitable for a qualified teacher with experience or a strong interest in working within alternative or specialist settings. You’ll play a vital role in planning and delivering tailored lessons that accommodate students’ diverse needs while helping them to build confidence, resilience, and a love for learning.

The ideal candidate will:

Be a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience in mainstream, alternative, or special education

Have a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and SEMH needs

Be able to manage challenging behaviour using positive and consistent strategies

Deliver creative, adaptable lessons suited to a range of learning styles and abilities

Foster a supportive classroom culture focused on relationship-building and trust

Work closely with pastoral staff, therapists, and parents/carers to ensure holistic support for each pupil



Requirements:

QTS or QTLS (essential)

Experience teaching pupils with additional needs, particularly SEMH (desirable)

A commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Two professional references

Right to work in the UK
