Five Education New Blog

Welcome to our new blog page!

Hi everyone, I'm Karla, the staff Equality and Engagement manager at Five Education. As well as my position at Five, I also practice as a therapist for children aged 3-12 with a range of complex needs. I work alongside children with neurodiversity, behavioural problems, trauma, attachment disorders, and learning delays. Before my therapy training, I previously worked in Inclusion support, helping students aged 3-15 who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities. I would love to use my knowledge in SEND to help our staff as much as possible whilst they navigate their way through their current roles as SEN teaching assistants.
Our mission at FIVE is to provide quality support for SEND students in mainstream and specialist provisions across the southwest. As an independent recruitment agency that specialises in SEND, we offer our staff highly informative training to help broaden and enhance their skills. Each month, I will present a blog specifically focusing on one SEND topic. These blogs are written with general tips and information on each topic, including my personal experience of how to manage these types of needs. Supporting SEND students can be very challenging at times, but also a very rewarding experience. I hope these blogs, with my own experience, will help provide you with fresh ideas, and support that will enrich your work with us.
We understand that supporting children with SEND has its challenges and can, at times, take a toll on your well-being. If you are struggling in a particular placement and need some support and advice, we are always here to help you. You can contact Karla Tondel at Five Education and arrange weekly check-ins with advice, support, and guidance to help you with your work and provide you with a safe space to talk.
