Are you a flexible, compassionate, and motivated individual looking to make a positive impact in education? Five Education is seeking Supply Teaching Assistants to work across a range of school settings in BS3 (including Southville, Bedminster, Ashton, and surrounding areas). This role is ideal for those who enjoy variety and want to gain experience supporting children and young people with SEND in a range of settings.

As a supply TA, you’ll work on a flexible, day-to-day basis (with opportunity to move into long-term and contract roles) in local nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, and specialist SEND provisions. You’ll support students with their learning, emotional wellbeing, and daily routines, adapting your approach to suit the age group and individual needs of each student.

At Five Education, we welcome both experienced professionals and those new to education who are enthusiastic about making a difference. You’ll be supported throughout your placement with training opportunities such as Team Teach, PMLD Awareness and Makaton, along with ongoing guidance from your dedicated consultant.

Main Responsibilities:

Support the learning and development of pupils across early years, primary, secondary, or SEND settings

Work with individuals or small groups under the direction of the class teacher or SENCO

Assist with classroom tasks, activities, and resource preparation

Promote positive behaviour and help manage any challenging situations calmly and professionally

Provide personal care or physical support, if required, particularly in SEND settings

Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times

Essential Criteria:

Empathetic, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting young people

Flexible and adaptable – happy to work across different school types and age groups

Available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 15:30 (term-time only)

Right to work in the UK – we are unable to offer sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas

Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years)

Up to date DBS/police check, or be willing to obtain one*

*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
